Born and raised in the Aosta Valley, Henri grew up with a big respect for the mountains. Cross-country skiing at 7, biathlon racing at 10, and shortly afterwards, he began competitive running and ski mountaineering in his teens.
Henri's breakthrough came when he represented Italy at the World Mountain Running Championships 2014 in Massa Carrara. Over the next four years, he dedicated himself to vertical running and alpine skiing—competing in and winning the international skyrunning competition in Fully in the summer of 2019. And by winter that year, he finished 5th at the Trofeo Mezzalama, one of the world's toughest and most historic alpine ski races.
For Henri, the passage from the snow to the trail is as natural as the changing of seasons. And he's got big plans for both disciplines.
Having finished first in the 2021 Mountain Running World Cup, his sights are set on smashing new world records. The ascent and descent of Monte Cervino and Mount Teide, the highest volcano in Europe, are top of his to-do list.
